I had forgotten all about this concept until I was scrambling for something to post about today. Covering old books with beautiful paper is an amazing way to dress out a bookcase or even create a little stack of color in a small spot looking for some action. I have covered books for clients in gorgeous textures with little color and maybe a dash of sparkle and even covered giant books in cowhide and leather for another client. The possibilities are endless and the effect is awesome! You can go little, simple and even big. My need was different. Brad has this tall butler cabinet that has very little space on top for décor or any kind. The cabinet is an odd height, so you can’t overwhelm it with something big. The little stack I put together ads just enough color for the room without overpowering the cabinet.
The paper and ribbon are from Paper Source. They have amazing paper with tons of choices. If you don’t have a variety of books lying around, you can find reasonable books at any second hand bookstore or thrift shop. P.S. I’m dying to do someones bookcase, so call me…maybe? xoxo and smooches
