I have to be honest. I saw this idea on facebook and had to try it. Keep in mind, most of my kids are adults now, with the exception of Mimi, who thought they were adorable. Otherwise, just a cute easy idea to give a summer event a little fun detail.
I used pink Pillsbury cake mix. I love jell-o cake, so I poked a few holes, pored some strawberry jell-o on top of the cooked cake and then chilled. The frosting is butter cream from scratch, any recipe will do. After the cupcakes cools and the jell-o sets, frost all over with white frosting, then add the blue ocean detail. The beach is crushed graham crackers. Roll the frosting into the crackers, only on the white frosting portion. Cut beach towels from fruit roll ups. Add teddy grahams, cocktail umbrella from Party City and you have a super fun cupcake. Make everyday an event… xoxo
