all american corn on the cob

Corn on the cob  should be so easy, right?  Maybe not if you don’t cook it often.  There are a few details to keep in mind.  Before you bring the water to a boil, add salt and a little dash of sugar.  “Like, maybe 1/2 teaspoon of sugar”.  Bring the water to a boil.  Split the corn in half to fit in the pot.  You can do this best by grabbing it and splitting  it with your bare hands in the middle.   I have tried to cut it with a knife and it’s just not as effective.  Boil in hot water for 20 minutes.  Set the timer.  Remove from water, season and add butter.  Simple? Yes!  Completely delicious?  You bet!  Happy 4th of July…

{all good corn deserves a good beer, Heineken!}

tuesdays table, sunflowers and lemons

Sometimes a beautiful table is about using what you have.  I always have lemons and a water pitcher serves as a great vase for fresh flowers.   Scatter the color around the table to make the setting pop.  It’s easy to make everyday an event…  xoxo
