tuesdays table, easter 2012

I know Easter is over, but I wanted to make certain I posted the pictures in case any of my special followers need ideas for the upcoming year.  I’m fortunate to have plates, napkins and napkin rings from our wedding.    For the Easter table centerpiece, I strong blooming branches with lemon stems, scattered fresh granny smith apples and cuties for a pop of orange.  I picked out all the flowers and arranged them in my white coffee mugs, as well as strong satin ribbon to match the napkin rings the width of the table.  The inside of the house was blooming as well, but there is only so much you can put in one blog.  I pulled out green paper umbrellas for the sunny side of the table and froze cuties to keep the lemon aid cold.  Smooches and make everyday an event…

tuesdays table, easter brunch

Here comes Peter Cottontail.   Easter is just around the corner now.  I’m still working on what details I will have this year.   Special place settings always seem to help make the event even more memorable.   We always end up with drop in guests, which I love.  However, it does create a little challenge with pre-setting a table with place cards.   I saw this little idea for a Rice Krispies treats nest.   I knew I could take it to another level with Cocoa Krispies, Cadbury eggs and making it my place card holder.   Make everyday an event…  xoxo

mondays menu, cucumber sandwich

Brad calls these bridge sandwiches.  I call them cucumber  finger sandwich.  I know what he means by bridge sandwiches.  Both of our mothers played in bridge groups while we were growing up.  Each person in the group has a turn to host the get together.  This means a lot of work preparing the house and food for an all day event that would include festive beverages to complete the theme.  If my mom made cucumber finger sandwiches, she would likely have served them with a grass hopper or an orange gin fizz.  I don’t play bridge, but love a good old fashioned cucumber finger sandwich.  These will be an item included in my Easter brunch.  I will most likely serve them with margarita’s or champagne.  Cheers!  xoxo                       {cream cheese, fresh dill, lemon and cucumbers}
